WHITESNAKE estrena una versión inédita de "Is This Love"

WHITESNAKE editará el 6 de octubre, a través de Rhino Entertainment, una edición especial de su clásico "1987", también conocido como "Whitesnake", con motivo de su 30º aniversario. La banda de Hard Rock estadounidense ha presentado uno de los temas incluidos en el disco, una versión inédita de la canción "Is This Love".

Formatos de "1987 - 30th Anniversary Edition"

El álbum será editado en una caja de lujo -"Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition"- de cuatro CDs más DVD con la versión original remasterizada, canciones inéditas grabadas en estudio y en directo, vídeos musicales clásicos, material de conciertos y un documental de 30 minutos con una nueva entrevista con el cantante de la banda, David Coverdale. El material musical estará acompañado por un libro de tapa duras de 60 páginas, con fotos inéditas de la época, un reportaje basado en entrevistas realizadas a Coverdale, y un libreto con las letras del disco, escritas a mano por el vocalista.

También habrá versiones de "1987" en doble CD y doble LP en vinilo, así como una edición de un único disco con la versión remasterizada.

"1987" se convirtió en un gran éxito, llegando al número 2 de la lista Billboard y haciendo famosos singles como "Still Of The Night", "Give Me All Your Love", "Is This Love" (que llegó al número 2) y "Here I Go Again" (número 1). En Estados Unidos se vendieron más de ocho millones de copias.

Coverdale habla de la reedición:

Ha sido muy divertido de hacer, porque no miro mucho al pasado. Aprendo del pasado para aplicar esas lecciones al futuro y presente. Pero mi gratitud hacia este disco está más allá de las palabras. Sólo he entrado a un estudio para intentar mejorar el álbum anterior... En este caso fue como "bien, ¡voy a vender 30 millones de putos discos!" Fue increíble, simplemente increíble, así que es genial revisitar todo esto.

Nuevo álbum en 2018

Coverdale ha confirmado que se ha estado reuniendo con los guitarristas Reb Beach y Joel Hoekstra para componer un nuevo disco que llegará a finales de la primavera de 2018.

Estoy muy emocionado porque es la primera oportunidad que tenemos Reb, Joel y yo para sentarnos y componer juntos. Hay mucho de lo que podríamos considerar Rock de estadios; Teb y yo hablábamos la otra noche en la cena y dijo "tío, hay tantas canciones aquí que no importa donde las toquemos, Portugal, Brasil o Tokio, se van a quedar con el gancho. Van a pegar puñetazos al puto aire y pasar una gran noche". Y yo dije, "oh, absolutamente, y más de lo normal", lo que es genial. No puedo hacer mierda de usar y tirar. La única razón por la que hago este disco son las canciones que van a ser un gran álbum de WHITESNAKE para los fans de WHITESNAKE, y para la banda.
